Meet the Artist
Greetings & Salutations!
I’m Gracie Lookadoo, your personal copywriter for the arts & entertainment industry, and you’re here to check out my credentials. Let’s get to it, shall we?
Becoming a writer was never the plan. You see, I was dead-set on becoming a groundbreaking, life changing, course-of-history altering modern cellist. For fifteen years, that was the plan, and in some ways, it still is. I studied Music Technology (recording, production, electronic instruments & all that jazz) at Stetson University in Florida. I ran a radio station, managed a sound booth, and I minored in photography. I even ran a handmade jewelry business at one point. For the past two years and counting, I’ve been single handedly running a ballroom & latin dance studio, making it as a professional dancer and copywriter.
It’s okay if you’re scratching your head right now. I’ve had quite the adventure!
This topsy turvy path illuminated a few important things for me:
I can’t live a life devoid of the creative experience.
If you ask me to pick just one artistic outlet, my answer is “no.”
Artists deserve to be hungry for art. Not survival.
My mission is to be your very own all star back of house production team, so you never become just another “broke and hoping for my big break” artist, no matter your medium.
Wondering why I’m different from every other copywriter?
I’ve got the skills. You, dear reader, are a testament to that if you’ve made it this far into my web copy. My adeptness with a keyboard and wordsmithing is not what makes my copy special.
It boils down to one very simple truth: I get it, firsthand.
I get the trial and error process of developing your craft. I get that talent is only half the battle. I get the day in, day out invisible repetitive practice grind that turns a wanna-be hobbyist into a professional. I get the sleepless nights spent toiling under burnt-down candlelight, honing in the idea you know in your gut is going to be “the one.” I get the soul crushing feeling of having someone not believe in you and your dreams, and I also know exactly how big a difference it makes when someone finally does.
And, I have a mean “stick it” streak - don’t tell me I can’t do it, because then I’ll have to, just to prove you wrong.
All that to say I won’t give up on you. Your voice, your vision, your skill - I genuinely believe in you.
